Spoilers: Gin was the only guy in the show that got close to killing Aizen(Besides Ichigo). His shikai is most def not a rare and if he never died he would be considered a top tier soul reaper in the show. Gin is considered a prodigy just like Toshiro despite them not being from any high and mighty noble clan like Byakuya. They were not expected to be prodigies like Byakuya since they were nobodies atp so Gin is most def HIM. Legendary tier is the only applicable rarity for Shinsō/Kamishini no Yari

Soul reapers are indeed the best, they got the best partial element(shikais), they got the best mode(not counting the segundas, and even then, kyoka suigetsu tops them all because of a single key lmao), they got the best yamato, they got the second best kido, they got the best weapons overrall, they have better elements. The only thing they somewhat lose to is true variants because true vasto is still really good. Its insane how much they glaze soul reapers considering they are going to get a 4th mythical element(i am certain that shinso is going to be a mythical) while arrancar only has 1 and quincies have 2(and 1 one of them doesnt even deserve to be one in terms of visuals)

gins bankai is ALL THAT btw, he nearly kills aizen and its 500 times faster than speed and can go up to 13 KM and could retract in milliseconds. The reason why he was shown to be weak against ichigo and aizen was that he spared him because in the story he saw that ichigo needed to progress furthur as he was too weak to him. And Aizen was immortal due to the hogyoku.
